Gents, free Sauvage, stop obsessing about this loud, attention-seeking fragrance. It falls along the lines of one of those that everybody has smelled many times.

It doesn’t take away from the quality of the smell, but it does have some effect on perception. It’s not new anymore; I smell it everywhere. Love it or hate it, it’s polarizing.

It’s now the Acqua di Gio of the 90’s, one of the best scents ever but also one of the most common.

Fragrances like Luna Rossa Carbon, Bvlgari Atlantique, Bleu De Chanel, etc. smell similar to Savage in the dry down; this could be why most people will claim they smell Savage daily.

Smelling like someone else might not seem like a big deal. until you’re out on a date and get told you smell like their dad, uncle, ex-boyfriend, brother, etc. Sometimes it’s worth branching out from the standards and trying a niche scent.

When somebody smells Sauvage for the first time, it’s a nice, mesmerizing scent nonetheless.

Sauvage is the epitome of a trend in Kampala. It is one of the most controversial fragrance releases in years, ranking right up there with Aventus, Kouros, and 1 Million.

Men new to the fragrance world come across Sauvage and fall in love. They clutch it and are not about to give it up.

I don’t mean to trash the beloved Sauvage; this is what’s hot this season. It has been pushed a lot in ads, and its presence is known so well as opposed to other scents.

The inherent loudness is one of the reasons why attention-seeking wearers are only stocking up on it; this scent cannot be worn quietly. Like they always say, bad publicity is publicity.

If you’re not averse to men wearing a fragrance that you can smell, even from a bit of distance, this is not something you will like because it’s monolithic, so it will be uncomfortable for you.

Sauvage has been hyped to death on TikTok and YouTube, but the question remains: is this internet sensation as good as people claim?

Smell:

It’s simply a nice, safe smell. It does not have a complex smell; it’s not revolutionary; it’s not new. It’s consistent in both warm and cold weather.

performance and versatility; you can get 24-hour longevity even when one sweats. The smell never changes, no matter how hot you get; it just starts projecting more and filling the whole room.

Longevity on clothes:

Trust me, you don’t want to spray this on your leather jacket, suit, or something you don’t wash regularly. It won’t be getting off until you get it washed.

Price: Two sprays are all you need; the bottle will last you a lifetime. It’s quite affordable for a working-class person.

Performance:

11/10 generates monster performance, one you would wish all scents had; this is one of the few modern scents that can fill a room.

Men’s fragrances are more like something to be endured; there’s oftentimes no ranking for how they smell. It’s like it doesn’t matter as long as people fall into a dead faint when you pass by.

Everyone’s sniffer is different! Do I love this scent? No. Do I hate it? No. Is it a good scent? yes.

I would without a doubt recommend it for an attention-seeking young man looking to break into the fragrance world and wanting something versatile in his wardrobe. This would be the perfect stepping stone.

“I’m hoping for a new wave in men’s fragrance that turns the tide to something more pleasant and interesting. I’m tired of men clamoring for “performance” in their fragrance like they’re buying a racecar. How about something that smells good instead?” Tania Sanchez says in The Guide 2018 about current mainstream men’s fragrance, and I can’t agree more.

I may be basing my opinions on ancestry evidence, but I believe there’s truth to this. There are many other fragrances that present their notes like a well-composed symphony.
